Of all the hundreds of PC models that we have reviewed for 2009, the Gateway SX2802-03 would have to be one of the best-priced desktop models for this year. Despite its modest pricing, this model also proved to be a very competent PC, complete with a powerful set of specs and large variety of features.
First of all, the Gateway SX2802-03 desktop is powered by one of the newest PC processors, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor (2.5Ghz). It has 6GB of DDR2 memory (8GB max) and has a larger 1TB hard drive (SATA 5400RPM). This set of specs will prove to be more than sufficient for the average PC user. It will be many years before you will find the need to replace or upgrade this desktop model. This model runs of the new Windows 7 operating system (Home Premium, 64-bit).
The powerful specs above are just the tip of the iceberg as the Gateway SX2802-03 also comes with some of the best specs that any consumer desktop PC can have. For starters, this little desktop supports 5.1 channel Surround Sound, HD audio. For graphics rendering, this model comes with the Intel GMA X4500. Connectivity wise, this desktop has an astounding 9 USB ports, a HDMI output and a memory card reader. Looking at its specs, you will think that this must be once big and chunky desktop model. On the contrary, this model is a compact tower style desktop, measuring at just 10.5 x 4 x 12.5 inches in dimensions. Then there is the price of this desktop that would have be the big cherry on the cake. The Gateway SX2802-03 is retailing for just around 9 per unit at the time of writing.
